Peter Obi Mourns As Labour Party’s Zonal Chairman Dies In Kaduna Auto Crash

The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi has expressed sadness as the party lost one of its Zonal Chairmen, Lawal Garba, to an auto crash in Kaduna State.

Naija News learnt that Garba died in a fatal road accident along the Kaduna-Zaria road.

The incident happened while Garba was on his way back home from LP’s engagement with Northern stakeholders in Arewa House, Kaduna, on Monday.

The spokesman of the party’s presidential campaign, Yunusa Tanko, in Abuja on Tuesday, said Obi is saddened by the sudden death of Garba.

Tanko quoted Obi as describing the death of Garba as devastating and shocking.

He said, “He was a great party leader, a great guide and adviser to the Labour Party in the planning and prosecution of the Presidential Campaigns.

“My heart goes to the family, the teeming Labour Party members, the Obidients family, the entire people of Tudun Wada and the Kaduna State in general.”

Peter Obi noted that Garba lost his life fighting to rescue the Nigerian State from total collapse.

The former Governor of Anambra State prayed for God to grant Garba’s soul eternal rest even as he urged members of the party and the Obidients family to work harder to ensure victory for Labour Party candidates in the forthcoming general elections so that his death will not be in vain.
