The Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike may be en route to bury his grievances which had led to the lingering internal crisis in the People Democratic Party, PDP after regrouping with key PDP governors in London.

Naija News reports that the talks for negotiations come shortly after the Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), Kayode Fayemi, led Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State to a closed-door meeting with the Rivers State governor on Friday.

The meeting has increased speculations that the Rivers Governor may be plotting to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Contrary to speculations, Wike, who has continued to maintain silence on his next move after he was jettisoned by the PDP presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubaker for the slot of the party’s vice-presidential candidate, met on Sunday with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state for a strategy session ahead of the 2023 general elections.

A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said Governor Ortom has been under intense pressure to persuade the Rivers State Governor not to withdraw his support for the PDP and the London meeting discussed the agenda.

The details of the meeting were not made public however but may be aimed at resolving the crisis affecting the PDP ahead of the 2023 polls.
