Photos: Ex-Gov Obiano Missing As Wife Picks Anambra Senatorial Race Forms
The wife of former Anambra State State Governor Willie Obiano, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano has picked the form of interest to join the 2023 Anambra Senatorial race.
Naija News understands that the former First Lady who was all over the media weeks ago following a ridiculous incident, obtained the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest the 2023 Anambra North Senatorial District election on Tuesday.
It was however observed that while supporters and party members were with her, Obiano’s presence was missing from the picture.
Naija News understands that the former governor is currently having a running battle with Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Below are pictures of his wife obtaining the form:
Naija News recalls that Mrs Obiano became a trend a few days ago after she was involved in a scuffle with Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the Biafra warlord, on her husband’s first day out of office.
The former First Lady was graced with a slap at the swearing-in and handing over of government to Governor Charles Soludo.
The chaotic event happened after Mrs Obiano left her seat to exchange words with Bianca where she was seated.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai on Tuesday welcomed the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu in his State.
The presidential aspirant was in the state on a condolence visit following that attack on a Abuja-Kaduna train by bandit terrorists.
El-Rufai while speaking commended Tinubu for cancelling his 70th-anniversary colloquium in honour of the victims of the attack.
The Kaduna State Governor noted that he is his awareness of the presidential ambition of Tinubu, but said God will choose the best leader for Nigeria.
He said, “This gesture by Asiwaju is a show of powerful leadership, empathy and concern for the lives and property of Nigerians. It’s unprecedented in our history in Nigeria.
“The government and people of Kaduna state will never forget this gesture. We are very grateful to you for your service, sacrifice and commitment to the unity and that of our country. We appreciate your call for people to contribute to enabling us to rehabilitate the victims of this tragedy.
“We are aware of your aspiration to be president of this country, we look forward to furthering engagement so that we can progress that aspiration.
“Nigeria is at crossroads, a critical crossroads, and we must take very difficult decisions to get the right leaders that would take us out of the multiple quagmires that we are going through. These are human challenges and they can be solved by human ingenuity. I pray for God to choose who is best for Nigeria so that we will be the better, united, progressive and exemplary country that is fair and just to everyone.”
