Police Points Gun At Nollywood Actor, Accuses Him Of Using Charms
Nollywood actor Akah Nnani has opened up about being harassed by the Nigerian police during a recent taxi ride.
Nnani revealed via a video posted on his Instagram account that the ordeal began when his taxi was flagged down by police officers along Ring Road Bridge.
He stated further that there were about 20 police officers on the bridge who claimed they were conducting a stop-and-search operation using a shuttle bus and not the official police vehicle.
While in the car, the Nollywood actor alleged that a police officer walked up to the vehicle, cocked a gun at him without explaining what his crime was.
When Nnani challenged the police officer for harassing him for no justifiable cause, the security personnel became irritated and asked them to drive to a dark alley, away from the bridge and other road users.
However, when he declined, they insisted on searching him and that was when they saw his house key which had a local drum attached to it, they accused him of having a charm.
The father of one explained that they only allowed him to leave after asking him his profession and going through the photos and videos on his phone.
