Switzerland’s Breel Embolo suffers wardrobe malfunction while SCORING with Euro 2024 fans convinced he ‘lost his pants’

BREEL EMBOLO left football fans fearing he had had a major wardrobe malfunction at Euro 2024.

Embolo, 27, came off the bench to net Switzerland’s third goal in a 3-1 win over Hungary.

However, it was a piece of clothing the 27-year-old left behind as he ran through on goal that got fans talking.

With the game stretched as Hungary pushed for a late equaliser, Embolo latched on to a long ball from goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

He then proceeded to chip the ball over Péter Gulácsi.

But as he ran through on goal, a piece of clothing on the forward’s knee could be seen falling down his leg.

And fans were left convinced it was actually his pants.

Reacting to the remarkable incident online, one fan said: “Fair play to Embolo doing that with his pants falling off.”

A second said: “Why’s Embolo’s pants just come off.”

A third added: “Did Embolo just lose his pants?”

Another said: “Embolo did well to keep running as his pants fell off.”

However, the clothing was in fact a knee strap he was using to help him following his recent return to football after a season-long lay-off.

Embolo only returned to action for Ligue 1 Monaco in late April, scoring once in five games before suffering another complication in the final game of the season.

Fortunately for the Swiss he was able to make the Euro 2024 squad.

Kwadwo Duah and Michel Aebischer netted in the first half before Barnabus Varga pulled one back for the Hungarians.

However, Embolo ensured there would be no completion of the comeback as Switzerland ended up winning 3-1.

It leaves Switzerland second in Group A behind hosts Germany, who thrashed Scotland 5-1 in the tournament curtain-raiser on Friday.
