Tinubu Vows To Strengthen Nigeria-Germany Ties For Mutual Prosperity
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to deepening the partnership between Nigeria and Germany, with a focus on energy and key sectors crucial for economic development.
Speaking during a bilateral meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized the need for stronger collaboration that would yield mutual benefits for both countries.
He reiterated Nigeria’s openness to international business partnerships and assured that the ongoing economic reforms were designed to create an enabling environment for foreign investments.
The Nigerian leader highlighted the eagerness of both Nigerian and German leaders to strengthen ties, with previous engagements serving as proof of their shared commitment to business collaboration.
Tinubu also pointed out his administration’s efforts to improve business rankings and establish frameworks to ensure long-term prosperity for both nations.
At the conclusion of the bilateral talks, President Tinubu expressed optimism about enhancing people-to-people connections and facilitating economic opportunities at the governmental level.
“I could see from the previous meeting, earlier meeting today that our businessmen and policy makers are very anxious to do business with Germany.
“Mine is to continue to give you assurances that our business doors are open and reforms are working very well. These business ranking, that’s what we have discussed.
“We plan to strengthen the relationship and build partnership that is fulfilling and rewarding to the two countries, people-to-people relationship, and government-to-government facilitation of opportunities and prosperity,” Tinubu said in a joint press conference.
As part of the ongoing efforts, Nigeria is set to benefit from Germany’s €4 billion investment in green energy projects by 2030, a move that supports Nigeria’s economic diversification and sustainable development goals.
This initiative will also enhance Nigeria’s position in the global green hydrogen market, aligning with Germany’s carbon neutrality objectives for 2045.
