Transfer News: Real Madrid Frees Hazard To Chelsea In Exchange For Reece James
Belgian professional footballer, Eden Hazard is reportedly on the verge of returning to English Premier League club, Chelsea.
Reports obtained by Naija News on Monday have it that Real Madrid who the 30-year old winger and attacking midfielder currently plays for has agreed to let go of Hazard in exchange for Reece James, with another signing clause inclusive.
According to El Nacional, the LaLiga giants hope to invest in a new right-back position to provide cover for Dani Carvajal next year, hence the interest in James.
It was gathered that that Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has asked the club’s President, Florentino Perez to make a move for James.
Perez hopes to solve two problems in one go by bringing in James and offloading Hazard back to Chelsea as part of the same deal.
Naija News understands that James is currently part of Chelsea’s formidable defence line and Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich may not want to let go even though he would be happy to bring Hazard back to Stamford Bridge.
Recall that Real Madrid signed Hazard from Chelsea in 2019.
The Belgian has, however, failed to make an impact since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea for £88.5 million two years ago.
Hazard has been linked to a return to Chelsea, though he is currently suffering setbacks from injuries sustained at Los Blancos.
