UFC stars Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland went through the wringer in their welterweight clash last weekend – and both were left with several war wounds.

The fan favourites collided in the main event of UFC Orlando – the penultimate Fight Night card of the year – last Sunday morning.

And they produced a thriller from the get-go – so much so that they bagged the Fight of The Night bonus.

But their amazing bout came at a cost.

Two-time welterweight title challenger Thompson, 39, suffered several cuts and bruises to his face.

Wonderboy was cut open in the first round by a series of vicious elbows after being hurt in the first round.

Holland was also left with some swelling, although the main damage he sustained wasn’t initially visible to fight fans.

Trailblazer broke THREE bones in his right hand early in the first round and is set to undergo surgery today.

The injury significantly hindered his offense and stopped him from defending himself effectively.

Despite handily winning the first stanza, Holland ultimately went on to suffer a fourth-round TKO defeat as a result of his corner throwing in the towel.

Holland shared images of his injured hand to his Instagram story, which he himself mocked.

Emblazoned across the image of his swollen hand, he wrote: “It’s a balloon.

“Logging off for a while. Send me good memes in a week or so.”

Wonderboy also took to Instagram to show off his war wounds, although brother-in-law – former UFC middleweight champ Chris Weidman – posted a video of the karate ace being stitched up by doctors to his own Instagram.

Thompson was all smiles after being sewn up and sent a message to his social media followers.

He said: “What’s up guys, I’ve been looking through my social media and I’ve seen all the comments, all the love.

He said: “I want to thank you guys so much, I appreciate it.

“I’m a little banged up, but I’m feeling good.

“Thank you to Kevin Holland for everything, my brother. It was a war and I appreciate it.

“We got ‘Fight of the Night’, baby. Let’s go. See y’all soon.”

Victory over Holland saw Thompson snap a two-fight losing streak.

Holland, meanwhile, is now on a two-fight skid – with the first of those defeats coming at the hands of Khamzat Chimaev in September.
