Wike, Saraki, Others Set To Be Named In Atiku Presidential Campaign Council
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State among others are set to be named in the campaign council of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
Naija News reports that Wike, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, former Senate President Bukola Saraki and other presidential aspirants will be part of the council.
It is understood that the move was to douse the tension in the party following Atiku’s decision to name Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State, as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
In a chat with The Punch, Atiku’s Spokesman, Paul Ibe said all aspirants who lost out in the primaries of the PDP and other party members will be integrated into the team.
Ibe also disclosed that plans are underway to appoint a Director General for the council.
He said: “Plans are underway to inaugurate the campaign council and appoint a director general. You have to understand that this is not just an Atiku thing. Everyone has to be involved. There are plans to integrate other individuals who lost out at the primaries.”
